Good day, Full Payroll subscriptions, you need to update QuickBooks Desktop, revalidate the service key, and enable it under Preferences. Click the Set my company file to use manual calculations link. Click the manual payroll calculations link under Set your company file to use the manual payroll calculations setting. Select the Calculate payroll taxes manually (without a subscription to QuickBooks Payroll) topic. Type "manual payroll" in the Search field, then hit Enter on your keyboard. Click Help, then QuickBooks Desktop Help ( F1). Once done, you'll want to set up your company file to use the manual payroll calculations. Click the Full payroll radio-button under QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Features. Click Payroll & Employees, then Company Preferences tab. Make sure that your computer is not connected to the internet before setting up. Let's follow the steps provided by my colleague so you'll be able to run manual payroll. ( Note: When your company file is set up for a manual payroll computation, QuickBooks inserts a zero amount for each payroll item associated with a tax.) Select the Set my company file to use manual calculations link. Under the Set your company file to use the manual payroll calculations setting, select the manual payroll calculations link. Select the topic Process payroll manually (without a subscription to QuickBooks Payroll). In the Help Search field, type manual payroll, then press Enter. From the Help menu, choose QuickBooks Help (or press F1on your keyboard). In the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Features section, select the Full Payroll radio button. On the left pane, choose Payroll & Employees, then go to the Company Preferences tab. From the Edit menu, select Preferences. Make sure that your preferences are set up for payroll. Note: For QuickBooks Desktop 2018 R8 and later: Make sure your computer is not connected to the internet or is offline before proceeding with the following steps.

One of the keys to finding the "Manual Payroll" option in Help is to make sure you AREN'T connected to the Internet! After trial and error, these are the instructions that have worked for my classes.
